4++ I wanted to post this review for posterity reasons. Just saw an announcement that they are finals day of service will be September 8, 2024. So sad. This place has been a staple of downtown area dining, especially since it was located right next to the Broad museum. This was the reason why we went at the time - it was perfect for a post museum visit brunch. My visit actually happened a few years ago before the pandemic so I'm going off the best of my memory. What I do remember is that they had a really nice space built out. The bar was stocked with the great selection of spirits and especially whiskey. For brunch, I ordered the French toast and bacon served on a smoker served with a truffle-raspberry-bourbon-syrup, some funnel cake with foiegras , and a drink with pineapple and bourbon to wash it down. I remember everything being very tasty with different amazing aspects of flavor and textures. It definitely wasn't the cheapest place, but it was a very nice meal and everybody had a great time. So sad to see the restaurant close as it was one of the spots that I would recommend to people after visiting the museum for sure.

Good experience. The Spinach Bucatini--- absolutely delicious! The naan, with butter was a hit, it was crispy, and the butter melted perfectly on it. Pan seared scallops were good, I personally didn't like the taste of the pork belly. Not sure if the skin was supposed to have a crispy.. but it wasn't. I would say this plate was a miss for me. Our waitress was always present and ensured our drinks were filled.

Otium is a killer restaurant all around (tucked neatly behind The Broad) with a chef (Timothy Hollingsworth) that pivoted to Instagram star during COVID. Now's he back and just as talented as ever. From a brunch perspective, all I have to say is OTIUM POTATOES. if you don't have them, your life will be just that much less wonderful. The Otium Breakfast, Breakfast Sandwich and Mole & Eggs all dazzle. On the "unch" side of brunch, the Pulled Pork Sandwich, Soft-Shell Crab Sandwich and even the Simple Bibb Lettuce Salad are filled with flavor and fresh ingredients. PRO-TIP: They make fresh pineapple juice behind the bar. You've never lived unless you've had a fresh pineapple juice mimosa. The ambience is rich with hardwood and natural light. The crowd is usually fun and the service is always just the right about of friendly and snooty. The playlist is always a treat. But come for the food. And the open kitchen.

Otium is to die for. Fiance and I have been coming for a year pretty regularly, because the food is delicious & service is awesome. Mathew took care of us today, made sure our party of 7 was happy and our party loved it. They want to come back on their own to try more. All the staff that attends to our table is not only polite, proffesional but just really sweet. We recommend this place every chance we can. Will be coming back!
